June LIFT UP YOUR VOICE TO HELP CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED AND NEGLECTED: CASA for the Highland Lakes Area Makes Mother's Day Happy for Foster Children; On Mother's Day we celebrate everything a mother does for their children. CASA for the Highlands Lakes Area is in need of 50 volunteer advocates and is forming a class for June 3,2013. CASA trains volunteers to advocate for children in a five county area. They will be offering training for new volunteers , training consists of 30 classroom hours and 3 courtroom observation. They need more volunteers from San Saba, Lampasas, Llano and Blanco. There are more than 200 children in Foster Care due to abuse and neglect in these counties. Class starts on April 15th at the New Covenant Church in Lampasas. Hwy 16 N San Saba's 75th Annual Rodeo Days is scheduled on May 31st and June 1st, featuring Clown Gizmo McCracken and The Beautiful Six White Horses, the rodeo parade will step off at 4:00 p.m. Saturday June 1st, after the rodeo on Saturday night there will be Street Dance (from 10:00p.m. until 12:00)at the courthouse square featuring John Conlee "Rose Colored Glasses" Admission is free for the dance, bring your chairs or rent a table from the San Saba Volunteer Fire Dept. No glass containers allowed.. Come enjoy yourself,please use recycle recepticles and help us Keep San Saba Beautiful! Saturday June 1st 4:00p.m. Parade Look for the fabulous Chamber float, we will have the Texas Hunters for Heroes wounded warriors on our float, we will be giving out American Flags

San Saba County Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade. Saturday, December 14, 2013 The Lighted Christmas Parade is an annual event in San Saba. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa and Mrs.Claus at Photos by VNA, while families take advantage of the downtown merchants extended hours and complete their last minute shopping, and enjoy the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce Annual lighted Christmas Parade. The parade includes individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, motorized vehicles and much more. The parade will begin at 6:00 p.m.at 8th and Wallace Streets, line up at 10th and Wallace at 4:30 p.m. For more information or a parade application please contact the Chamber of Commerce. 325-372-5141 We had many lighted entries last year, lets make it more this year! There will be no candy thrown from the floates and/or entries this year, but you may have someone walk beside your float and hand out candy to the kiddies if you would like.

Lighted Christmas Parade steps off at 6 p.m. Wonderful parade! School Band, lights, Kids love it. It grows every year, come see and enjoy! just throw some lights on your entry and come out and HAVE FUN! For those who want to have their entries judged , there will be judging this year at 5:00p.m, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons.. Please plan to line up at 4:30 p.m. at 10th and Wallace St. Come see Santa and Mrs. Claus in a sleigh pulled by some reindeer on a lighted float with Santa's helpers , three elves. Plus..Our beautiful San Saba Pecan Queen and her court will be on the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce's float.

Some merchants will be open until 8 p.m. for some Christmas shopping, some offering cookies and punch! Come have the kiddies picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus during the evening after the parade at Photos by VNA at 404 E Wallace.
